Tried installing the HP Laserjet P2035 on Ubuntu 7.10 but cannot get it to work. Although i am logged in as admin, i cannot delete any printers or set the new printer as the default. It keeps asking for a local host password for my username. When i enter my password, it tells me that is the wrong password. I also tried the HPLIP but that did not work either. I dont know much about linux Ubuntu and really need instructions on how to get the printer working. Any help would be greatly appreciated

can you add to your question why you are using 7.10 - HP themselves dont support this version. Is the P2035 a driver available in the default add drivers window? – fossfreedom Nov 2 '12 at 19:09
Just an old computer that works and dont have time to upgrade. No the driver is not available in the default window – Raul Nov 2 '12 at 19:22

ok - you should add that to your question. I suspect you will need to download the version of hplip source code that contains this driver and compile this yourself. Anyway - good luck with this if you try this yourself. Let us know how you get on. – fossfreedom Nov 2 '12 at 19:33
