Is it possible to do something like this:

Status 1: mouse and keyboard work as expected.

I press some hotkey or open an application that reassigns some mouse buttons and keyboard keys on the fly. For example: left click = ctrl + A, right click = ctrl + B, space = ctrl + shift + C

Status 2: All reassignments are active and it is not possible to use the mouse and the keyboard properly. (e.g. I cannot insert a space)

I press another hotkey or open another application that resets everything to status 1.

I know it is possible to do this with a reboot but I want to be able to this on the fly.
