I have just installed lubuntu-desktop and it's so much quicker. Anyway aside the point. When I login everything is fine but the second I right click the panel or open something on the right hand side I get some big gap and a "glitch" within the gap.

I have AMD catalyst installed and my graphics card is HD7850.

Can someone explain this to me or suggest a way I can fix it? It's quite annoying and ugly!

Could you please take a screenshot of the Panel Preferences and add to your question? To access it you can right click on the panel then "Panel Settings" > and so click the tab "Panel Applets". So I will might be able to help you. :) – Zignd Nov 1 '12 at 16:19

This is a bug, unfortunately. You might find some workarounds in its report. – Glutanimate Nov 1 '12 at 19:17
@MHC I agree with you. But lordqwerty as you liked Lubuntu (such as like and use) you should install it completely, the site to download the iso is lubuntu.net, there you will also be able to download the newest version 12.10. – Zignd Nov 1 '12 at 19:27
MHC Thanks! :) @Zignd I'll think about it. Trouble is I'm a student so not a lot of free time so installing the shell was easier. Also sticking to 12.04 LTS as it just makes life easier. Thanks for your help too :) – lordqwerty Nov 2 '12 at 22:20
