So I updated both my laptop and desktop to 12.10 over today. On my laptop the update made grub much nicer, the old kernel entries are in a subfolder and there's now a pleasant background gradient. On my desktop I still have all the old kernel entries and the hideous Debian grub background. I know I can change the background and modify the menu entries myself, but I'm wondering why the update did different things. I've tried doing a grub-install on my desktop but it didn't change anything.
