There are many applications that i need in the new install but all the website have 12.04 tutorials and ppas...

how do i make them work for 12.10?

I really need them!

Many does work if you simply use the 12.04 PPA on 12.10, in some more complicated cases it might not work, and in that case there is no easy way around it – arand Oct 23 '12 at 14:43

I think it is better to specify which application you are trying to install through a ppa or otherwise to be able to get specific help. It is difficult to give general instructions. – To Do Oct 23 '12 at 16:08
