Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I also have problems attempting to install UBUNTU 10.04 with wubi from Windows 7 onto a netbook. I downloaded WUBI from Ubuntu site today; therefore, I presume this is the latest version of WUBI. The first screen requires a user name and password. I enter both and receive an error message :

"Passwords do not match."

The screen does not have a field to enter a 'verify' password. To what is this comparison being made and, more importantly, how do I bypass this and get on with the installation?

I used WUBI about a year ago to install UBUNTU 10.04 on my desktop with Windows 7 with no problems. Something has obviously been changed in the WUBI install, can I not go back to the version I used before?

can you give a screenshot of the wubi? I think, there should be two field to enter passwords – Anwar Oct 22 '12 at 20:52
There is definitely only one field to enter a password which wubi seems to be trying to match to another password but without any clues as to what. – WUBI passwords do not match Oct 23 '12 at 19:12
Searching around askubuntu, others seem to be suffering the same problem. – WUBI passwords do not match Oct 23 '12 at 19:13
