I've got a problem installing ubuntu 12.04 on my asus eee pc 1005px netbook. I have made my usb stick bootable. I want to install it like the first alternative (delete everything on my hdd, 250.0gb scsi, and install Ubuntu), but I'm getting a message that says that it was unable to create a ext4 file system on my hdd.

Can you please repeat the process and precisely record the whole error message? –  January Oct 22 '12 at 16:26

Failed to create an ext4 filesystem on partition no. 1 on SCSI1 (0,0,0) (sdd). –  Limpan Oct 22 '12 at 17:13

also, i had windows 7 starter as my OS, before i decided to install ubuntu on it and now my asus is blank. I thought the install programs of ubuntu would create ext4 filesystem without any trouble. –  Limpan Oct 22 '12 at 17:18
