Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Every time I click on ubuntu software center it says Crash and this program has closed unexpectedly.
When I try to report the problem it sends and then says unexcutable path. Also, there are no details to that error.

and can you install with apt-get ? – Enes Kuray Oct 17 '12 at 20:50
Is there really no error at all? Try running Software Center through Terminal. Also try using apt-get. – ObsessiveSSOℲ Oct 17 '12 at 21:19
In my case, the problem is this: bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-center/+bug/1068680 – H2G Oct 19 '12 at 15:22

The first rule of computers is to turn your computer all the way off and turn it back on. If that doesnt work I would try examining your system monitor for a process labeled "software center" or something of the like and ending it. Hope this helps!

The problem isn't that the process hangs, but it fails to run fully. Please revise your answer to address that. Thanks@ – ObsessiveSSOℲ Oct 17 '12 at 21:23
