After I upgraded from 10.04 to 12.04 and got Unity my computer got pretty much slowed down because I don't really have a good computer. I only have 3 GB (which I upgraded myself) RAM and 2, 13GHz single core.

Would 12.10 be faster if I upgrade tomorrow?

There are some improvements for certain Intel video cards, but without knowing what hardware you have it is not possible to answer the question. –  cprofitt Oct 17 '12 at 18:04

If you are cautious about updating, wait until 12.10.1 comes out. That is the equivalent to a service pack on Windows, any bugs should have been eradicated by that point. Generally I will update on first day of release as I don't really find it that unstable. –  njallam Oct 17 '12 at 18:34

12.10 won't have any point releases. –  Jorge Castro Oct 17 '12 at 19:12

Yes , you can update to 12.10 tomorrow. and your computer is good (not perfect) . if you want more speed . you should try lubuntu or xubuntu . those are more light desktops than gnome .

and you'll get more stable and speed pc after update

I don't think that 12.10 will make your system seem faster. As of my own experience the "slowlyness" is most often caused by a tired graphics card. Gnome(3) is, as of my personal point of view, a very memory and graphics hungry process. Unfortunately I think Unity is walking down the same path.

So, yes, I would update to 12.10 tomorrow. And if I'd still find my system slow, I would investigate what hardware upgrading options I have opposed to how much a new computer would cost me.
