Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on a Windows XP computer that uses a Netgear WG111t wireless adapter. The adapter works fine in Windows, but not in Ubuntu. The installation disk for the adapter will not work in Ubuntu either.

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! We need more hardware information to help you, can you look at this question and then edit your question adding the information. –  Jorge Castro Oct 17 '12 at 3:46
David, I see the following similar questions:askubuntu.com/questions/112489/… and askubuntu.com/questions/86486/usb-network-adaptor-netgear. Sorry for the hardware detection problem, but hopefully you can get it sorted with ndisgtk (from the above reply from "To Do" it reminds you to make sure you corrrectly use either the 32 or 64 bit version of the WinXP inf file). Normally new Ubuntu users shouldn't have to do things like this, but for a great majority of hardware cases it "just works". Where it doesn't it can be a challenge. –  rik.shaw Oct 17 '12 at 10:09
