After I resume from suspend mode the icons on the desktop are blurry. I have tried to solve this with "additional drivers" and also my graphics card (NVIDIA) is capable of rendering which I checked through terminal.

What could be the cause of this? I am pretty sure its up to the graphics card...but could it be an Ubuntu issue? I use suspend a lot so this is really annoying as I have to constantly restart the computer. I also tried this in 2D mode but sometimes it works.

Mate I'm having the same problem with my system. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on an old Compaq with an AMD Athlon x64 without a graphics card. I'm displaying my screen on a Sony Bravia TV but I don't think that is the issue, because it looks the same on my monitor. Have you had any luck resolving this issue? – user100061 Oct 23 '12 at 6:18
No luck, however on my laptop (Lenovo) which is a newer model from last year I am having no issues at all running Ubuntu 12.10. It appears the older graphics cards are just not supported enough.I guess we'll just have to deal with it until something comes out. You can also research further on askubuntu and might be able to find an answer. – ed-2012 Oct 23 '12 at 13:24
