I have a 4.1 surround system that connects with 2 audio jacks (3.5mm) to my PC (Ubuntu 12.04). I have two soundcards (one on board and on usb-card) connected. My Idea was to run the audio for the 2 front speakers through one card and the audio of the rear speakers through the second card.
After some searching on google, i found http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/PulseAudio/FAQ#Can_I_use_PulseAudio_to_combine_two_stereo_soundcards_into_a_virtual_surround_sound_card.3F and added these three lines at the end of /etc/pulse/default.pa
I also changed in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf default-sample-channels to 4.
After applying, i get this error code when i try to start pulseaudio:
E: [pulseaudio] module.c: Failed to open module "module-oss-mmap": file not found E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Module load failed. E: [pulseaudio] main.c: Konnte Daemon nicht initialisieren.
Surprisingly though, the audio still works, but the settings are not applyed.
So how can i load this module and make surround work? Or am I doing this completly wrong?
