Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm on Ubuntu 11.04 and I'm using Emerald instead of Metacity with my gtk2 theme. Now, I don't want the emerald theme on the Firefox window.

Basically I don't want Emerald to add the border to Firefox, I want to exclude it. However, I'm not sure how to go about it - or if it's even possible?

Any tips please?

does it have to be firefox? you can slap together a quick python-gtk embedded browser and set the Window_decorated to false –  hbdgaf Oct 13 '12 at 21:14

Yes, Firefox only please - main reason being I'm using Australis / FxChrome styles with Firefox and it looks ugly with the emerald border. –  user96435 Oct 14 '12 at 10:52
