I am having trouble opening Eclipse. I installed Eclipse Indigo from Software Manager and it worked great. Then I installed JDK7 from the oracle website and when I tried starting Eclipse I got the following error: JVM terminated. Exit code=13. I googled this error and I think that it's because my ubuntu is the 64-version and Eclipse was for the 32-bit version. I downloaded the .tar.gz file from the Eclipse website because I wanted to install it manually, but it's still not working.

you can run 32-bit eclipse just fine on 64-bit OS. just install a 32-bit java runtime – Call me V Oct 13 '12 at 19:53
