I'm trying to create a bootable USB stick on OS X using Step on Ubuntu Website

When this finishes, I get a message in terminal saying "695+1 records in 695+1 records out 729067520 bytes transferred in 264.563662 secs (2755736 bytes/sec)"

But a message pops up saying "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer"

The options are Initialize, Ignore or Eject.

What am I doing wrong or omitting.

When is this message showing up? –  Anwar Shah Oct 12 '12 at 3:57
If he's doing this on a MacBook, perhaps a problem caused by EFI? Though I've done USB installs on MacBooks (older version, maybe 2-3 years old by now) with no issue. –  Githlar Oct 12 '12 at 5:00
The message shows up as soon as the procedure completes –  Rob Oct 12 '12 at 11:48
