Just installed Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my old but perfect condition Tosh Sat Pro L10 Laptop. Hard Wired to my router no problem. Now want to WiFi it. WiFi Does not appear to exist and if I click on the Hardware Additional drivers it does a quick search then I get an empty box. Presume its checking the system and not going on line to check some repository somewhere. There is a button on the front of this laptop to turn on the WiFi which is lit. (in case you were about to ask) I believe its an Atheros card. So I suppose the questions are. is there a Linux driver for this. Where do I get it from and how do I install it. This is my first adventure in to Linux. Used Unix in a previous life but that was too long ago to remember.

- Hardware Additional drivers has nothing to do with wifi. - You need to tell us what chipset the wifi uses. –  Rinzwind Oct 9 '12 at 14:45
