I have Acer Netbook AOA150 and I recently upgraded my Ubuntu to Ubuntu 12.04.1 version by selecting the option to upgrade and preserve old files. After installation, I am not able to view my old files on the computer. Can anyone help to retrieve all the old files and make it available with the new installation? The computer hard disk shows that it still has the capacity nearly full with all my old files.

What do you mean by Old files? If you referred to the file in your home directory, I think those should still be in your home –  Anwar Shah Oct 8 '12 at 14:31

Did you do a new install change your username? Your old files would be under /home/oldusername/ –  fabricator4 Oct 8 '12 at 14:37

Hi, I was running Ubuntu 12.04.01 version. All of a sudden I encountered the low graphics problem. I tried out solutions using the command line but to no avail. As s work around, I installed the same OS version once again selecting upgrade option. I did not change the user name or password. Hope this helps in understanding the problem. –  Srinivasan Oct 9 '12 at 16:59
