I have MS Powerpoint installed on my Toshiba Netbook with Ubuntu 12.04. But is not working with my Acer Projector. I just see my desktop wallpaper on the projector screen, but my presentation is not showing up. Please advise.

How do you run Powerpoint with Ubuntu: Under Wine, VirtualBox, or somehow else? Do you see the powerpoint on the laptop screen at the same time? Did you try enabling "Mirror displays" under the Settings->Displays properties? –  elomage Oct 7 '12 at 12:06

Try opening the file with LibreOffice Impress, that's the Ubuntu program that handles presentation files. –  Tom Brossman Oct 7 '12 at 12:08
