Any help is greatly appreciated as I do a large sum of my work on my PC.
Okay so whats happened is I came upstairs and saw my computer running Windows 7 with a blue screen so I assumed nothing of it cos that happens occasionally so I just turned it off and left it till later on, and when I tried to boot it would get stuck on on the BIOS screen bit and couldn't recognize the HDD with Windows on.
So I decided it would be a good idea to download Ubuntu and disconnect the faulty hard drive but leave the functioning one and install the OS on there. I don't know if it's the fact it already has data on it that makes it not install but when I insert the boot CD I get the purple Ubuntu screen with the icon at the bottom but after about 10 seconds it turns to a screen resembling command prompt...and stays there.
I have 2x500Gb HDD's, 8GB RAM, AMD Phenom II 955, Biostar A880G
