I wonder if there is an extension or an option to add an additional hot corner to gnome shell, just to see all the windows of the current application, or some related behaviour.

Need more information, like what version of GNOME you're using, and what version of Ubuntu you're using. Helps to knock out any answers that are incompatible with what you're running. – Sly Oct 1 '12 at 5:25
