How do I get network drivers working for a IBM model 346 Server model 8840 netextreme ethernet card?

Is there a method I can use as a newbie to understand how to extract a driver meant for a RED Hat distro and convert it to use for a UBUNTU Server distro?

I would like to find the drivers so I can use my 12.04 distro for ubuntu server. Model 8840
