It all happenned after i tried to upgrade my gnome-shell 3.4.1 to v3.5.4. I didnt know that it was an unstable release. The first problem was that the wallpaper was busted with improper colour variants like green and yellow and such. I fully removed gnome-shell and reinstalled it using synaptic. but it couldn't solve the problem and i couldn't log into gnome either,though unity worked fine.then i removed the ricotz-testing ppa from my repositories using ppa-purge. many things got screwed after that and now my ubuntu login-screen doesn't have the cool effects and all and no unity 3D. please help. i edited my repositories but in vain. its still not working. please help.thank you in advance
