I have just downloaded linux ubuntu and I can't seem to find my wifi. When I tried to connect manually I still couldn't do it. Is there anyway around this?

I have virgin media broadband by the way.

to add to this I have installed linux. However I can see all other wifis but not the ones I want

Downloading Ubuntu is not enough, you have to install, or at least run it from CD/USB. Have you done any of that? – mikewhatever Sep 21 '12 at 13:41
