While installing ubuntu 12.04 I encountered this error message:

The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk:

This is often due to a faulty CD/DVD disk or drive, or a faulty hard disk. It may help to clean the CD/DVD, to burn the CD/DVD at a lower speed, to clean the drive lens, to check the hard disk is old and in need of replacement or to move the system to a cooler environment.

Here is the thing that I find weird: The hard drive and CD/DVD drives are new. Why would I get this error message when I reinstall for the second time? The first error message was ubuntu could not accept SWAP partition.

Is the CD you are installing from free of scratches? Please press any key when you boot it and you see a man and a keyboard upon a purple screen and then select Check Disk For Errors? – ObsessiveSSOℲ Sep 16 '12 at 1:45
