I had a dual boot XP Pro/Vista machine. I had to have Vista for work, now I don't. Now I want to install Ubuntu. I removed Vista and get a boot.ini error. I am working on getting rid of that, but after installing Ubuntu, it does not even show up as a boot option. I can see the install files on the HDD, however I am not even able to see any type of boot option in EBCD. Any Ideas?

Where did you installed GRUB? it is possible you installed GRUB in a different partition other than the Vista one. – ThiagoPonte Sep 14 '12 at 11:20
The first try at install I used the windows installer and installed Ubuntu on a completely different drive than where XP is installed. Actually, the files are there and I can see them. Then I tried usng the ISO method. During that install Ubuntu said it detected Vista and asked if I wanted to install them side by side. I said yes since it was installed on the same drive as Vista in the first place. As far as GRUB, I am not sure I thought that it was installed with the software.
