The /etc/fstab entry looks like this:

//SMB_HOST/SHARENAME /local/mountpoint cifs auto,user,rw,uid=LOCAL_USER,gid=LOCAL_GROUP,workgroup=WGNAME,iocharset=utf8,credentials=/home/LOCAL_USER/.secret/smb 0 0

In /home/USER/.secret/smb you put

username=SMB_USERNAME
password=SMB_PASSWORD
