Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am missing several monitoring tools, system monitors that tacked cpu utilization (and balance on a multi-core system), disk access. Also, I am used to having something like eathereal up while browsing, but I am not seeing these basic utilities on the 'app store'. Can some one help me find out how to get them? (should I just go to sourceforge?)

The new scroll thing is just new, can I configure to get a widget my old shaky hands can work?

a list of installed apps, the giant scroll thing on the left hand side makes me sort of dizzy (I am a busy-bee and launch several apps), can I get that kind of function? (getting tired of 'find'ing my apps by actual name...;-)

Maybe I shouldn't have updated, how painful will it be to 'roll-back'?

(I've got more, but let's start there;-)

Please split this up into different questions, all of these have been asked before and the site only works when there's one post per question. – Jorge Castro Sep 13 '12 at 0:27
fair enough, the above is more of a rant than a question. – alfred27 Sep 14 '12 at 1:29
