My laptop cannot boot neither Ubuntu nor Windows 7: “NO bootable devices” error [closed]

Question

When I start my laptop, the error shows as:

'NO bootable Devices' press F1 to retry,F2 for setup ,and F3 for Scan.

When I put in my Windows 7 CD, the same problem happens. My laptop can't read the disk either.

First make sure your dvd drive is working. Insert a Ubuntu cd.. and keep pressing F10 after you restart. Choose your DVD drive from the list. Yes you can boot into Ubuntu. I don't know whether Windows is bootable. Never heard of it....
@Naveen The key may be different on some devices for displaying the boot device menu. It'd be helpful if the OP posted the exact brand and model number of their laptop in case we need to guide them through working with the BIOS.

Try to look into BIOS if HDD and DVD-ROM are detected by your system.

Probably your laptop lost its BIOS setup. Enter BIOs (F2 as it suggests on boot) and reconfigure the disks (and check the other settings).
