I have two questions related to eachother.

First, whenever I quit Skyrim, the process doesn't terminate. I have to open the terminal and locate/kill the process every time. It's a bit annoying and was wondering if there's a way to fix that.

Second, if I leave Skyrim running for a long period of time while away from the computer, the system hangs. It has happened three times now where I come back to the PC and neither monitor has video signal. I've tried to get around this by attempting to drop out of the x session, ctrl + alt + F1, but nothing happens. I'm always forced to physically reboot my PC. Any ideas?

Sounds like a driver issue for the second. – Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams Sep 7 '12 at 5:46
Thanks for that. I'm using the current stable, 259.40- If I use the newest through the proprietary drivers config menu, ubuntu consistently boots in low graphics mode. It basically breaks. – Steve Sep 7 '12 at 6:27
These are bugs, and should be reported on Wine's bug tracker. – RolandiXor Sep 7 '12 at 7:00
try playonlinux...it will install additional plugins for your game (i think) – aking ubuntu Sep 7 '12 at 7:01
