Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

if I want to open the terminal (as an example) I usualy hit super start tiping "ter" and hit enter.

But since a couple of days ubuntu 12.10 alpha opens rhythmbox if I do so. Ok there is a song (or many songs) that contain "ter" in their names as well, but still I want it to open the app not any file. This way I am forced to switch from Keyboard to mouse to open the terminal.

Is it a bug or a new behaviour that prefers files over apps? If so that would drive me away from unity since it would kill my workflow.

I even tried to make Zeitgeist forget everything and stop it from recording my music in the hope that this might change the behaviour but it didn't. Opening the terminal several times to show to unity that I prefer it didn't work either
