A while back I downloaded xampp from the site, http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html

This version is giving me some errors on some of my php sites which I know works, as they are live. Now I figure downgrading xampp with a earlier version of php will fix these problems on my test server.

These sites did work under a xampp version 1.7.7, I downloaded this today. If I extract the 1.7.7 will it replace the 1.8.0 version or will I have to completely remove exampp and then extract the 1.7.7?

What will be the best way?
