Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

So I posted a question here: https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+question/206656 about the problems I was having with compiz.

The compiz segfaults are back:

compiz[5082]: segfault at 1fab1a78 ip 00132343 sp bfaa43ac error 6 in libcompiz_core.so.0.9.7.8[110000+ab000]

compiz[5516]: segfault at f70774ee ip 03da44ca sp bfb069e8 error 7 in libnvidia-glcore.so.295.40[27ea000+1bc0000]

I also get a whole host of segfaults from other programs as well:

gdbus[4336]: segfault at 0 ip 008ba981 sp b6bfec70 error 4 in libglib-2.0.so.0.3200.3[837000+f7000]

soffice.bin[3153]: segfault at b0220290 ip 00142f14 sp b3313fb0 error 4 in libc-2.15.so[110000+19f000]

I also get randomly logged out as well, The logs don't show why I've been logged out.

Are all these problems related to compiz, if so, any possible solutions?

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! This should be reported as a bug. You can make Apport collect and submit the necessary technical information--but still make sure to read the bug reporting documentation first, and describe the problem thoroughly in the bug report you write in the web browser (which will come up automatically after Apport sends the data). – Eliah Kagan Aug 30 '12 at 21:17
