I am running in trial mode from a DVD boot. I have a windows network. I have wireless access to the windows network, which is providing me with this access to the internet.

When I try to browse my windows network I receive the message:

Unable to mount location Failed to retrieve share list from server

I am an experienced windows user. I do not have experience with linux.

What kind of authentication do you use in the windows network? Usually you can browser windows network via samba protocol (EG: open any folder, press CTRL+L and then type smb://). You should see your workgroup and navigate the pcs connected to it – Andrea Olivato Aug 29 '12 at 15:09
