I've been sent a pdf by email and when I open it there's no "save as" option. If you choose the "save a version" option, you don't know where it's saved to. If, when you open it, you select the "save file" option, again you don't know where it's saved to. I'd be grateful if anyone could help! Thank you.

When you choose to save it, do you get a window showing where it is going to be saved? You should be able to change the destination to whatever you want. Try saving to your desktop. If you are using Thunderbird, the help page for this is here. – Tom Brossman Aug 29 '12 at 6:43
You need to mention the browser or e-mail client you're using. You can edit your question to provide that information. – user25656 Aug 29 '12 at 6:45
