Can I get set by step instructions on how to do this? Everyone has different instructions on how to do this. This Rackable Server has no OS installed and I want to put Ubuntu Server on it. It has 4 USB ports on it. How can I do this in dummy edition please?

Make a bootable usb, plug it in and boot. :) You can use anyone from the ton of tools available. eg: unetbootin. – Mahesh Aug 28 '12 at 15:29
@Mahesh - I think the issue is that it's in a rack and has no monitor. – RobotHumans Aug 28 '12 at 16:35
oh.. headless installation.. I do it by attaching a monitor temporarily, but that may not be what he wants. now I too need an answer here. – Mahesh Aug 28 '12 at 17:57
