How to setup wired internet connection on Ubuntu 12.04 (i'm using BSNL broadband - dialup & VPN connection)

Have you searched this site for BSNL? Perhaps some of the existing questions and answers and comments may be of some use? The search box is near the top right of your screen. Just type in BSNL, hit enter, and you'll get quite a few hits. – vasa1 Aug 28 '12 at 4:23
my BSNL broad band connection shows connected, but i can not access the internet, i keep getting the server not found message. – Pratap Aug 28 '12 at 21:06
