matlab has been so nice not to update its supported compilers. The latest version supported that supports the so-called mex-files is gcc-4.3.4.

Now, this version also seems to be deleted from the repository. Is this correct? Is it possible to support it again?

I've been trying to install 4.3 with a variety of methods proposed around on the net, but this is getting rather cumbersome compared to the straight forward method the apt-get provides.

Why not fix the code so that it's compliant with the language specs? – Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams Aug 28 '12 at 2:15
