Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Firefox 14.0.1 on Ubuntu 10.04 does not save my page preferences: settings like page margin, header and footer.

When I change it through the about:config page I can see changes reflected on the prefs.jp file under /home/{user}/.mozilla/firefox/{profile}/prefs.jp, but when I print a page, settings get restored to default values.

When I open prefs.js to directly change the config value, I can see and edit the file. Once saved it keeps my changes. But again, when I try to print, preference get restored to default values.

I searched the web I and saw that this is a common problem. I also unsuccesfully tried some proposed solutions, like resetting Firefox to default.

Can some one help ?

Thanks

Dave
