I installed 12.04 LTS a few days ago and have encountered this problem with the screen.

First: When I shifted between windows or I moved up and down through a website(s), the screen seemed to have like stripes, and for two or three seconds or so it doesn't work.

Second: The other day I succeed in fixing it, but only when I'm using the battery. Whenever I plug the charger in, the problem appears again. It happens when I take out the battery and plug the charger in, and also when I've been using the battery, and I plug the charger in.

I don't really know what to do.

My Laptop specifications are:

  • Toshiba Satellite L850 - 150
  • AMD Radeon HD 7670M Graphics Gard

Any help will be to assistance, to try and work out my problem.

Althoug it might seem strange, I've solved it by installing gnome 3. Since I installed it I've had no problem. –  David Aug 27 '12 at 8:45

Maybe some dependency package of Gnome solves the issue. –  LnxSlck Aug 27 '12 at 9:09
