I am using Ubuntu since three years and though I am not an experienced user I have never had any problems so far, but now I am facing one, which I do not understand!
When starting the computer as usual and login in into my user account suddenly on the lowest line there is an indication "File manager" Not only once but all the line is filled automatically wih File manager, file manager, file manger and file manager again. Finally the room is not sufficient and the all is shrinked to :::::::::: ... :::
I do not understand what happened and what is going on.
When I try to find any files e.g. my pictures in the folder, which is named in German language "Bilder" I cannot access any file anymore.
I can open firefox and by my email program contact the folder and attach pictures. So they are still there, but I cannot access them from the desktop.
I can access pictures by an application called picasa, but I cannot find them as before from the desktop menue.
I restarted the computer without any effect. I restarted Ubuntu in the recovering mode no change. I returned to an older release of Ubuntu no change and always the same problem.
Who can help me or give me hint, what to check? When shutting down the Computer "Ausschalten" there is an indication that the file manager is still running and I can shut down only by giving order to shut down in spite of this. This is a severe drawback and I need help!
