Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have two other NTFS file system partitions on my disk besides the drive C.

I want to enlarge D: getting the space from C:. GParted shows an error and could enlarge it but maintained the free space gotten from C:.

I tried Mini tool Partition Editor in Windows to complete the resizing which it did successfully and both drives D: and E: can be seen and used in Windows.

In Ubuntu, only the Windows(C:) and Ubuntu file system can be seen in the file manager.

GParted shows whole disk as unallocated space, however mount manager shows all the partitions but can't mount them.

During Ubuntu boot, an error prompts skipping mount D: or pressing for Data recovery. I keep media files on D: and other files on E:.

I use 12.04 LTS more than Windows. So I really would be very appreciative of a solution to this.
