I have Ubuntu 12.04. I removed rhythmbox player and when installing banshee media player due to overheating my laptop did an auto-shutdown (It was instant shutdown). After reboot, I went to software center, removed banshee and installed it again. And it doesn't want to start anymore. I've removed it again, installed it again same result. What should I do? Thanks!

Though I can't be certain which file, I would say that you have to manually remove files before reinstalling. The most relevant one I can find is ~/.config/banshee-1. Someone more learned than I might know the correct file but it won't harm to remove it then reinstall – Chris Carter Aug 19 '12 at 9:01
