Trying for two days to figure this out but still no luck.

System: xubuntu 12.04lts
Card: nvidia 7950 GT
Driver: version 173-updates
Monitor 1: Dell 2007WFP (1680x1050)
Monitor 2: LG TV (1920x1080)

Goal: I want to use my LG tv to watch videos from time to time as a secondary display, not to be a permanent extension of my desktop.

Problem: Since the LG has a higher resolution than my main monitor, the driver insists on placing my toolbars/panels and my tilda "rollup command line" on the LG. I checked the box in the nvidia xserver settings to make the Dell the primary and I believe it thinks it did because my wallpaper, icons, and conky are all on the proper Dell monitor.

How can I force my panels and command line back over to the "Primary Monitor"?

I plan to use disper/autodisper to do the switching of profiles when/if I get this sorted out.
