Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

It just caught my eye. I was installing a nightly CD image of 12.10. The installer still shows 12.04 LTS. Is this something missed out or is it intentional ?

This is intentional. Ubuntu 12.10 is still only in Alpha 3, so it will look a little like Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (ex. Wallpapers, Unity, HUD, Distro information, installer CD, etc.). As we move closer into October and the Betas, Ubuntu 12.10 will start looking more and more different. Probably in Beta 1 or 2, the installer CD will be addressed.

Hope this answers it.

PS, Here is the release schedule for Ubuntu 12.10:

Alpha 1 - 7 June
Alpha 2 - 28 June
Alpha 3 - 2 August
Feature Freeze - 23 August
UI Freeze - 30 August
Beta 1 - 6 September
Beta 2 - 27 September
Kernel Freeze - 4 October
Ubuntu 12.10 Release - 18 October
