I tried to install ubuntu 12.04 on acer having amd processor but it would not boot up. The error was some firmware file b43-open/ucode5.fw. I installed windows xp again but the hard disc space available now is much reduced and system is heating up quickly. How can I free my hard disc space eaten up by ubuntu and prevent heating problem.

It looks you have a partitioning problem. Look at the partition manager in Windows or use an Ubuntu liveDVD/liveUSB and open Disc Utility to delete any partitions which are not needed. It would also be helpful to know how you installed Ubuntu the first time. – To Do Aug 15 '12 at 17:38
I would also consider the #ubuntu irc channel on freenode.net for further help (webchat.freenode.net). At least for the ubuntu related questions, you might get instant online help. – minimec Aug 15 '12 at 17:43
We cannot help you with the Windows overheating problem since it is not Windows. – ObsessiveSSOℲ Aug 15 '12 at 19:40
