I am trying to setup a twin screen configuration, note TWIN screen as in same image on both screens. My problem is that one screen is a tv with a 16:9 aspect ratio, while the other is a laptop with a 16:10 aspect ratio. When I select the twin screen option, my resolution options are 800x600(4:3), 1024x768(4:3) and 1280x800(16:10). Those are the are the same resolution options available for the laptop when it is on its own. The television has a lot of other resolution option going up to 1920x1080(16:9), so you can see that when selecting the twin screens option only the resolutions available on both screens are available.

The problem is that in the television settings(not ubuntu, television software), only the 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios are available. Which leads me to my problem: when I select twin screens, the image on the television is stretched, as the television is displaying a 16:10 video feed with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

I other word on my screen people look fat.

How can I fix this, maybe by editing Xorg? I have never modified Xorg before, so please be clear about what I should do.

thanks
