I used the Vmware player utility to expand my hard disk . Now it says I have to create a partition on the Ubuntu machine which I expanded. So I went into disk utility and saw that a new partition was created. I renamed it . But how do I make sure that apt-get install installs to my new partition.(since the reason I created the new partition was because I was running out of space in my current one.)Do I have to merge the two using Gparted? If so how do I do it.
I have seen this: How to merge two partitions? but it doesn't do anything other creating a partition. What do I have to do in order to use this partition which I created
