I'd like a glassy theme for my gnome 3 desktop but I can't find one that runs smoothly. Some of them are laggy, others are too squared, and the rest are dark. Is there a smooth, seamless, glassy theme for gnome 3 that runs well without lagging?

Asking whats best maybe subjective as opposed to asking whats available. Which ones have you experienced that you consider laggy? Also have you ruled out that it maybe your system that is laggy as opposed to the theme you are using? –  theDefector Aug 10 '12 at 13:25
One of the themes I tried was this one: It was the closest looking theme to what I had in my mind but notifications and the overview mode were laggy. I tried other themes and they worked fine so I assumed that the theme is at fault. –  Vagrant232 Aug 10 '12 at 13:52

You should make your own mind up :)

Go to HERE for window themes

Go to HERE for Gnome shell themes

Or go HERE for some icons

Then install Gnome tweak tool to change themes

sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

Or use software center
