Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I think that the restricted-manager should show the Driver-Version. For example: I have installed the current ATI-Catalyst-Driver 12.6 from the ati-website and I want to check if Ubuntu has this Driver in their repository. I can't do this. I think it is important to show this information. Maybe sombody will fix it?

I hope this is the right place to talk about something like that. I found nothing else where i can share my idea.

(Sorry for this bad english ;-) )

You should probably ask this question at brainstorm.ubuntu.com. That website is for suggestions for ideas about Ubuntu. –  Aaron Hill Aug 8 '12 at 12:54
It seems to me as if that suggestion is directly related to Ubuntu, isn't it? Apart from that, not showing the actual version as described above is a big annoyance to me too. –  Mrokii Aug 8 '12 at 16:39
This can be posted at brainstorm.ubuntu.com, or, since this is a specific feature request and you're able to articulate how to implement it and why it should be implemented, you can file this feature request as a bug. –  Eliah Kagan Aug 10 '12 at 4:33
