Title says it all, how can I read a password from the gnome keyring using a bash script?

I know you can do it through python but I donot know if it can be done through just bash launchpad.net/gkeyring – sagarchalise Aug 8 '12 at 11:16
Thanks for the tip, but if it cannot be done by bash alone, I'd prefer something that is shipped with ubuntu in the repos. – Marcus Aug 8 '12 at 11:36
Python is installed on every Ubuntu machine and cannot be removed without breaking the system, so it's a safe bet that any machine you encounter will already have it. – Scott Severance Aug 8 '12 at 23:13
@Marcus You will require python-gnomekeyring module which can be installed from the repos. The link above is just a python single file script based on the module. – sagarchalise Aug 9 '12 at 5:09
